After a perfect start with 4 wins in a row, RBBFC had to settle for a draw against Chenois, which feels like a defeat. Especially because of the way the game was played but also because we didn't play football.

The main objective against Portugal was to take pleasure, and how do we do that?

By moving the ball around, build the offensive play and the most important thing (said by Hodgy slapping his thighs) leave the pressure of winning the title in the locker room.

Even though if Portugal are last we all knew that it will be a tough match, because it is one of the greatest rivalries of the 21th century.

The first half started pretty well, the instructions have been respected, the whites (I’m talking about the jersey) are moving the ball around with a high pressure on their defence.

As we tried to have the possession of the ball and play short passes from the back, some mistakes could have cost us a goal but Kris manage to stay focus and save some of the few shots of the Portuguese.

A long ball arrive in front of the box for Nils, he manage to beat the keeper without touching the ball (don’t know if he made it on purpose) but in the end his shot wasn’t on target.

After 15 minutes, Daniel goes off the pitch because of his knee pain, Spencer is on!

The old Pulisic was a great help for "Player of the month Dex” on the wing, to defend on the fastest bacalhau. The right wing wasn’t able to go past them a single time, you can feel the intensity on every contact all over the field.

James finds Seb in his feet, who manages to get rid of his defender to find Tarik on the side. Our captain of the day put a strong cross mid height and the defender put it top bin for us. 1-0 for RBBFC !

At this point we had the total control of the midfield, the ball goes from right to left, left to right with great technical ease.

The second half starts on the same basis. The Portuguese are much more offensive and manage to pass on the sides, but luckily without any danger. There was much more space for us to counter-attack, and after a wonderful team effort led by Spencer, Rich pass it to Seb in the box and finish it with precision.

By the way Spencer came straight to me after the goal and told me that he could play football too. It shows that the man didn’t use to have that accuracy in the past.

2-0 for RBBFC! The possession of the ball at this time was at least 70% – 30%.

We had a lot of chances to score a third one but our vet upfront forgot to put his contact lens and didn’t even had a shot on target that day.

Their left wing remembered that his idol was CR7 and transformed into a skilful player. Our defence had some bad times against him but he was just like Richarlison (great skill, good pace but doesn’t do nothing in the end)

Andy & Jean are subbed for Dex & Nils

We are near the end of the match and one of our player decided to take the ankle of the opponent in the penalty box instead of the ball and give us a stressful end game.

Nobody saw who it was, some says it was Jean but for me it was a man with grey hair. (The guy just bought me a beer at Etcetera to not put his name in the match report).

The referee blow the whistle and RBBFC are still undefeated with 5 win and a draw.

The game showed us that when we play our game, press high and are focused for 75 minutes, we will be impossible to beat. Everyone concerned in this team are as good on the pitch as they are outside. It’s always a pleasure to play with you guys, but it is more when we play and win like this. Let’s focus on winning every game, week after week.

The bacalhau was just the appetizer but next week it will be our favourite opponent, be prepare to go to war because I am!
