I really should write the match report straight after the game...

There was a chill in the air as the league leaders hosted Tourinnois. Even though we came into the game top of the league we had not won in our previous two fixtures - so a victory was vital.

We dominated the first half and really should have been a couple of goals up at the break. That being said, it was Tourinnois who took the lead after an unfortunate clearance from Martijn, who cleared the ball onto Andy or Dex, with the opposition striker running through on goal and scoring to give the away side the lead.

Our equaliser came straight off the training ground - even if the two players who were involved are rarely at training. Jean played the ball to Chris in defence, who saw the perfectly timed run from Paul, and played an exquisite ball over the Tourinnois defence for Paul to smash the ball home in Alan Shearer-esque fashion. What a beauty!

After a positive half time team talk, we knew that if we played with the same intensity and tenacity then we would take all 3 points and cement our place at the top of the league.

During the second half, Jean decided to make a few changes to try and win the game and Mr. Reliable, Spencer Springob certainly made an impact. After intense pressing from Spencer and the ball ricocheting of his hip, the ball eventually fell to Paul - who struck first time, only to be denied by a world class save. This would not deter Paul as he would eventually tap in the rebound and consequently the winner for the hosts.

3 points for the league leaders on our quest for the championship.
