RBBFC had to come together and get back on the winning streak. After two disappointing defeats all the players felt the urge to get on the pitch to get the three points.

Gunter had a different priority though as the team’s quest for concentration was suddenly disrupted by his candid request for a device allegedly used by civilized people to dry one’s hair. The mighty ‘hair-dryer’. That question quickly became a jibe for everyone in his right mind except for kind-hearted Friederichs who offered his hair wax in earnest good faith. If society needed yet another reason to ban Cristiano Ronaldo’s beauty products commercials altogether, that is the ultimate one.

Leaving make-ups for good, RBBFC was off to no cosmetics and to some real noble football instead. Ball possession and smooth circulation was the theme for the first half. The defense was solid and quick in starting the game. The midfielders dominated this crucial zone of the pitch. Forwards gave options and were dangerous upfront.

The first big chance was created on the right flank. Si M’Hammed swings a good ball to Deschamps who controls it and asks for a quick 1-2 with Henriquez. Deschamps crosses the ball in the box but Godefroid’s header is intercepted by LTC keeper.

It is only matter of minutes though before time is ripe for RBBFC to break the deadlock. The midfield recovers the ball and plays it quickly on the right side again, where Lambers collects it and unselfishly offers it to Godefroid who nudges it in the back of the net with all the comfort of this world.

LTC try to be dangerous on a free kick conceded at the edge of the box but they’d have scored only if El Capitano was looking for a hair-dryer, which he obviously wasn’t. Gunter, any idea?

Terrific technology advancements allowed El Capitano’s half-time speech to be broadcasted (almost) live for the first time in Rosières history. TV viewers and WhatsApp users were in this way able to learn that all the team had to do was to keep playing the way it was and avoid giving away unnecessary fouls.

Second half was different though as ball circulation was less fluid and LTC pushed to equalize but inconclusively. It took a couple of missed chances for RBBFC to finally being able to put the final nail on the match coffin. After a combination on the left side prompted by the debutant Gary the ball leisurely dances in LTC’s six yard box for quite some time before Charlito Deschamps decrees he had enough of ballets, 1-0s and hair-dryers and scores the goal of tranquility.

Full peace of mind comes as the referee sends one of LTC players off. Rumour has it the referee was told he hadn’t booked enough players (just 10 maybe?). The thing is he only needed an extra one to complete his fidelity card and redeem it at the bar to enjoy his well-deserved free beer. 3 points were all RBBFC needed. Now, as ‘MyGirr’ would conclude: forward, together.
