The opening game of the season was hindered by last minute cancellations from hung-over so and so's along with a keeper that graced us with his presence 5 mins. after kick-off and not to mention the further a setback instrumented by Mark Pellegry who turned-up with no ID. What's more is that his limp attempt to rush back and fetch it culminated in sod-all: Mark made it back only in time for post-match free beer...way to start as you mean to go on!

For the rest of the 11 men, counted, the beers were well deserved as they managed to remedy a sketchy and disorganised 1st half, in which they wasted roughly four goal-opportunities, with a two goal flurry shortly after the break. Alex Lamarra, younger brother of the prodigal Steve, was responsible for the creation and execution of the equaliser scored from a long distance free-kick that lobbed the unsuspecting keeper. The following goal was expertly tucked-away by Rachid Maliki on a rebound, also by a lob, from just outside the penalty area. The final goal by Dougie Jones came after continuous pressure on Midi AS's defence.

Congrats to the permanent boys who with a slightly improvised squad (regards to John McGrath who came from the Vets to successfully soldify the defense and the students in passing), clearly limited in numbers, managed to display notable potential for the upcoming season. The growth must however come from a more coherent co-operation between the mid-field and the attack.
