Established in 1933, the Royal Brussels British Football Club is a founder member club of ABSSA, the leading amateur football association in Belgium.
Today, the RBBFC is the longest established international amateur football club in Belgian amateur football, running six teams with more than 150 members drawn from the wider business community in and around Brussels.
Membership is truly international, consisting of some 20 different nationalities from every continent around the world.
Although the minimum age is 16, two of our teams are for ‘Veterans’ only, accommodating our more mature members of 38+ yrs. The 'Veterans League' (Divs 6A - 6E) started in 1988, since when we have won the veteran championship 3 times.
The 1st.XI has consistently performed amongst the top sides in ABSSA during the past twenty years, winning the division 1 championship back in the 1979/80 season.
In 1983, a very proud occasion, when King Baudouin graciously granted our Royal status in commemoration of the Club’s 50th anniversary.
The 60th anniversary was marked by a reception at the Hotel de Ville, where the Burgomaster of Brussels was present amongst many current and former members.
At a special dinner at the Palais des Colonies in Tervuren, 213 current/former players and wives/partners assembled for the Club's 70th Anniversary Dinner/Dance & Prize Giving.
Special guests at the gala dinner included 80 former players and wives, most of whom had travelled back from the UK for the event, but some from further afield including Spain, Seattle - USA, and Conakry - Republic of Guinea.
ABSSA president Robert Stas also made a moving tribute to
the Club and presented a special trophy to commemorate our 70th birthday.

A double celebration this season.
The 1st team won the ABSSA Championship in March, emulating the success of the 1980 team, for the second time in our history.
In May the 75th Anniversary Dinner/Dance took place at the famous Comic Strip Museum in central Brussels, amongst 200 current and former members with w.a.g.s. and including many long distance travellers from Australia to the USA.
